Ety Cicioni's interview, founder and patron

Can you briefly introduce us your company and your production?

Our family tradition was born in 1997 in order to create Pontifical Guard’s uniforms. This work not only gratifies us every day, but also means for us to serve the Holy Father. Making a uniform is indeed a detailed project involving an important attention. Hence our staff started to specialise in researching Italian fabrics and materials and it began producing ecclesiastical haute couture. Today we also have a showroom in Via del Mascherino in Rome, near the colonnade of St. Peter's. Also, with our e-commerce we are able to reach every country in the world.

How do you consider the current situation and the perspectives of the religious articles market, after both the pandemic and the current difficult period due to the war in Ukraine?

The pandemic of the past two years has certainly been a very tough test for every merchandise sector and with the arrival of the war, the situation is certainly not calm. Our work is made up of continuous research, the discovery of materials, fabrics and accessories that not only create an important supply chain but are also the strength of our products, and for this reason the entire religious articles sector must get back into gear in order to reactivate supplies and production.

The third edition of "Devotio" is around the corner and its aim is that to represent a moment of restart for the entire industry. What do you expect from this exhibition?

Devotio is certainly one of the most important events in the this industry and this will be our first participation, so expectations are really high! I really hope that all of we will be able to spread out a message of restart, market redevelopment and good product communication among both the event organisers and exhibitors. And why not, "Devotio 2022", can also be the real message of peace for the world.

Will you bring some novelties to “Devotio 2022”? Which ones?

This year production was dedicated to surplices and albs, which have always been our best products. Also, we will give away a very special stole made for the occasion, for all the orders that will be placed during the exhibition days.
