What does your company do and what distinguishes it?
3Drap s.r.l. operates at the intersection of sacred art, digital technology, and sustainable manufacturing. The company develops innovative processes of 3D scanning, modeling, and large-scale additive manufacturing for the preservation, enhancement, and faithful replication of works of art, with particular attention to the devotional sector. What distinguishes us is our ability to integrate advanced technologies with traditional artistic craftsmanship, creating a concrete bridge between historical memory, spirituality, and contemporary innovation.
What are your flagship products?
Our flagship products are faithful replicas of sacred works of art, created from high-resolution 3D scans of the original pieces. Through large-format 3D printing and subsequent manual artistic finishing, carried out using traditional techniques, we produce lightweight, durable, and sustainable statues—ideal for processions, temporary installations, museum exhibitions, and educational projects—while fully respecting protected original artworks.
Will you present new developments at DEVOTIO 2026?
Yes, at DEVOTIO 2026 we will present the evolution of our integrated process of digitization and additive manufacturing applied to sacred art. We will demonstrate how 3D printing, combined with three-dimensional scanning and manual artistic finishing, can become a concrete tool for preservation, continuity, and enhancement of religious traditions, with increasing attention to material sustainability and digital traceability of artworks.
What are your expectations for DEVOTIO 2026?
For us, DEVOTIO represents a fundamental moment of dialogue with the world of devotion, artistic craftsmanship, and institutions. We expect to create new collaborations, strengthen existing ones, and actively contribute to the discussion on how technology, faith, and tradition can coexist and mutually reinforce one another, offering innovative yet respectful solutions that honor the sacred nature of the works.
Digital in your sector
Digital technologies can have a decisive impact in our sector, especially in terms of preservation, documentation, and accessibility of sacred heritage. Digital tools allow fragile works to be safeguarded by reducing risks related to handling and wear, while also expanding opportunities for study and public engagement. We do not currently have a traditional e-commerce platform, but we are interested in vertical platforms such as ereligio.com, which we believe can become useful tools for networking sector excellence and creating new opportunities for visibility and collaboration.
Environment and sustainability
For us, being a sustainable company means adopting technological solutions that reduce environmental impact without compromising artistic quality. We use materials such as PLA, of plant origin, recyclable and biodegradable, and we optimize printing processes to limit waste, energy consumption, and production time. Sustainability thus becomes an integral part of our ethical and production approach.
Your personal experience
The drive to found 3Drap stemmed from the desire to combine a passion for technology with a love for art and respect for the spirituality of local communities. What fascinates me most about this work is the opportunity to give new life to artworks that, for preservation reasons, might no longer be experienced by communities—transforming a limitation into an opportunity for cultural, social, and spiritual rebirth.
An anecdote or an unforgettable moment
One of the most moving moments of my professional journey was seeing the replica of the Madonna della Neve return in procession on August 5th in Sala di Serino: it was not perceived as a simple copy, but as a true rebirth. Equally meaningful was the trip to Albania for the inauguration of the bas-relief of Mary Help of Christians—an intense experience that demonstrated how the language of sacred art and technology can transcend geographical and cultural boundaries, bringing different communities together around shared values of faith and identity.
