Ostensory # 505

The ostensory (from the Latin means “ to show”), it is the object used for the solemn exposure of the Body of Christ (the consecrate host) for the adoration of Holy in the Catholic liturgy. Arredi Sacri Memeo thought about creating an ostensory that introduces the characteristics of the more important Christian symbology: the connection from the sin world to the Divine one.

The base shows the strength and the concreteness of the man, who has to face in the life with the good and the evil.

The stem, symbol of the evil world-divine bond, shows the passage of the heaviness of the foot with the lightness of the exposure.

The golden rays: where the Christian believer sees and prays the Body of Christ. The importance of the frame that welcomes the consecrate host allows the believer to gather the majesty of the Divine one. The alternate rays have been always used to suggest the precious light and majesty of the holy bread.

This item has been chiselled by our artisan man who pays attention in each draw of his little hammer. The finiture is in bicolour style, so gold and silver help to underline the bas relief technique.
