CELEBRATING THE WORD:
the ambo in the contemporary liturgical and architectural projects

TUESDAY, 21 JUNE 2022

10.00 am | Bologna Fiere | Spazio Arena

Thanks to the Vatican Council II, more than fifty years ago it was possible to rediscover the “space” of the Word as one of the centralities of the Eucharistic celebration. According to that and to the exhibition about winning projects of lasts “Diocesan contests”, on this day we would like to propose an insight on themes like the presence of the ambo and the liturgical layout of projects for new parish complexes. The ambo is the right place that produces and enhances the celebratory community dimension. What the ambo creates is the constant dialogic relationship between the celebrant and the community. It is also “an eloquent presence, which makes possible the echo of the Word even when there is nobody to proclaim it” (Designing new churches, Pastoral Note CEI, 1993).
