Exhibitors Interview 2026

Independencia
Rosaries that speak to hearts

Camilla Cetroni's interview, Sales Manager and Co-founder of Independencia Srl.

Can you briefly introduce us your company and your production?
Independencia is a company founded by my sister Federica and myself, with a very clear goal: to create rosaries capable of speaking to the heart and telling a story—the story of the hands that made them. Based in Rome, the company is involved in the design, production, and distribution of religious articles, primarily rosaries, with the aim of innovating a traditional sector through contemporary design and a strong social commitment focused on the employment inclusion of women who have experienced and/or continue to experience situations of vulnerability. Behind every model there is a project born from an idea, a message, or a symbol we wish to convey, which is translated into the choice of shapes, materials, and highlighted details, all the way to the creation of the prototype. For this reason, we select high-quality materials, including natural semi-precious gemstones and freshwater pearls, whose colors are enhanced by a wide variety of metals and galvanic finishes, crafted for us by the finest Italian artisans. Our identity, however, is also made up of people. In fact, many of our models carry stories of work and redemption—stories of women who are trained by us, for example in specific production techniques such as crochet embroidery, and who are then entrusted with the manufacturing process in order to transform fragility into skills.

How do you assess the current situation and future prospects of the Italian market for religious articles?
We see a market saturated with low-quality religious articles sourced from the most disparate parts of the world, present in all major places of worship—a market that feels the need to evolve and is beginning to demand products with identity, Made in Italy quality, and meaning. We believe the future lies here: products that combine tradition and contemporaneity, while also conveying the authentic values of the Catholic faith.

The fifth edition of Devotio is approaching. What do you expect from this fair?
From Devotio, we primarily expect encounters: people, stories, opportunities. We would like to share our vision on an international level and create collaborations with those who feel that a religious article can be more than a souvenir—an experience. For us, it is important to communicate not only the products, but also the journey behind them: the four-handed design process, the choice of materials, and the work with the women involved. We hope to return home with new connections and with the confirmation that beauty, when accompanied by goodness, always finds its way.

Will you be presenting anything new at “Devotio 2026”? What might that be?
At Devotio 2026, we will launch a mini capsule collection of rosaries inspired by the three theological virtues—Faith, Hope, and Charity. Each virtue will have its own identity: dedicated shapes, selected stones, details, and symbolic figures, so that each rosary is not merely an accessory but conveys a very specific message to the visitor. We chose to present ourselves with these capsules because, being our first time at Devotio, we feel they truly represent who we are. Faith is what guides us in giving value to what we do; Hope is what we seek to convey through our social project; and Charity is the soul of our way of working, made up of care, attention, and responsibility. We look forward to seeing you at the fair to present them at our stand no. G66!
