Alessandro Ferrari's interview, Founder and brand manager.
Can you briefly introduce us your company and your production?
APE SOCIAL WEAR is an ethical and socially responsible clothing brand created with the aim of communicating positive messages through what we wear every day. We produce T-shirts, sweatshirts, and accessories featuring original phrases inspired by faith, hope, and the value of the individual. Our garments are made from organic cotton, and the production processes take place in social cooperatives where young people with disabilities are employed. Young people with vulnerabilities are also involved in our physical store: for us, work itself is an integral part of the message we want to convey.
How do you assess the current situation and future prospects of the Italian market for religious articles?
We believe the market is going through a significant phase of transformation. Alongside traditional religious articles, there is a growing need for offerings that can speak to people in a simple and everyday way. More and more communities, groups, and families are looking for products that combine meaning, quality, and ethical consistency. In this sense, we see interesting prospects for those who offer not just objects, but lived experiences and values.
The fifth edition of Devotio is approaching. What do you expect from this fair?
Devotio represents for us a place of meeting and dialogue with the world of parishes, youth centers, schools, and associations. We expect authentic relationships, meaningful exchange, and the opportunity to share a vision of faith lived out in everyday life, including through clothing. More than just a trade fair, Devotio is for us a space for listening and sharing.
Will you be presenting anything new at “Devotio 2026”? What might that be?
At Devotio 2026 we will present new collections featuring original phrases and will strengthen our customization offerings dedicated to groups, schools, parishes, and associations, also in view of events and shared journeys. We will also continue to highlight the value of inclusive work behind each garment, because we believe that a message is credible only when it is supported by concrete actions.
