Exhibitors Interview 2026

Sanguienti
Handicraft company providing services and products since 1948

Alberto Sanguineti's interview, Owner.

Can you briefly introduce us your company and your production?
I have an artisanal company that provides services and products. This was founded in 1948 by my father-in-law Carlo Sanguineti. At first it focused on decorations for civil and religious events and chandelier restoration. Together with my wife and two employees, we have upgraded and expanded the company by adding the installation of electrical systems, lighting systems, and infrared heating. In the latter field, by working directly with the manufacturer, we have been able to collaborate and achieve high-level results. As for chandeliers, in addition to restoration we have also started a style-based production ranging from Gothic, Empire, and Baroque. In some cases, we have designed and created prototypes for new-generation places of worship, both in form and decoration. Even in decorations, we have always organized our work with an eye to the new architectural lines of churches, where Baroque does not always create additional beauty and solemnity.

How do you assess the current situation and future prospects of the Italian market for religious articles?
Since mine is a “specialized” activity, it does not allow me to have a complete picture of the situation of the “religious articles” market, but I can certainly say that at the moment there is a strong revival of handcrafted beauty, where what matters is not economic status but professionalism and quality of workmanship. I will give an example from my field: over the past four years, 90% of the new chandeliers I have made were requested as “top of the range,” that is, hand-carved, gilded with pure gold leaf, and at least with semi-finished or even fully cut crystal pendants.

The fifth edition of Devotio is approaching. What do you expect from this fair?
My goal in participating in Devotio is to make my professional side better known and to find new work challenges for our company.

Will you be presenting anything new at “Devotio 2026”? What might that be?
At Devotio 2026, I will present a versatile candlestick that can be used both in Baroque buildings and in modern ones.
