Beniamino Izzo's interview, Administrator
Could you briefly introduce your company and your production?
3DRap S.r.l. is an Italian company specialized in additive manufacturing: series production in plastic and rubber through industrial 3D printing. We originated as a technology-driven company focused on industry, but in recent years we have extended our expertise to the artistic, cultural, and religious sectors, combining technology with strong capabilities in design, modeling, and aesthetic finishing. We create prototypes, artistic works, bas-reliefs, decorative elements, and customized components, starting either from digital files or from existing objects to be scanned and reinterpreted, always with great attention to historical accuracy and the symbolic value of the works.
How do you asses the current situation and future prospects of the Italian market for religious articles?
The Italian religious articles market is undergoing a phase of transformation, in which tradition is joined by a growing demand for customization, sustainability, and tailored solutions. An increasing number of religious institutions, dioceses, and communities are seeking alternatives that allow them to preserve originals, reduce costs, and at the same time maintain a high aesthetic and symbolic value. In this context, digital manufacturing can represent an important ally, especially for restorations, replicas, architectural integrations, and new installations—without replacing traditional craftsmanship, but rather complementing it.
The fifth edition of Devotio is approaching. What do you expect from this fair?
Devotio represents a key point of reference for the religious world, not only as an exhibition showcase but also as a place for meeting and dialogue. We expect an opportunity to engage with very diverse stakeholders: manufacturers, religious institutions, designers, and cultural operators. For us, it is above all a moment to explain how technology can be placed at the service of faith, memory, and tradition, with respect and sensitivity.
Will you be presenting anything new at Devotio 2026? What might that be?
At Devotio 2026 we will present some recent large-scale projects developed in the sacred field, including bas-reliefs and three-dimensional works obtained through 3D scanning and printing, created to enhance religious heritage and to be enjoyed by communities. We will show how it is possible to:
• produce replicas for processions and celebrations,
• integrate customized decorative elements into sacred architectural contexts, always with an approach that combines technological innovation and respect for tradition.
