The artist Ulrich Perathoner comes from a wood sculpting family from the Val Gardena, where this craft developed in the mid-17th century. In those days decorating sculptors passed on their artistic experience to other sculptors who further developed the method and technique and worked out new themes such as sacral motifs. Ulrich Perathoner is one of these sculptors and he has worked successfully as master sculptor since 1972. He started his career at the School of Arts in Ortisei and then honed his artistic skills and knowledge at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. His personal aspirations to hone his artistic skills helped him to establish an internationally leading wood sculpting business. Ulrich Perathoner's son Daniel Perathoner has also been working in the business since 2003 and is now running it in the second generation with his wife Elisa. He has made a wood sculpting training before attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, from which he graduated with outstanding artistic achievement as a student of the master class. Thus he will have the qualities and qualifications to run such a business: creativity and an excellent training. Der Künstler Ulrich Perathoner stammt aus einer Holzbildhauerfamilie aus dem Grödnertal, wo diese Handwerkskunst Mitte des 17. Jahrhunderts entstand. Damals gaben Verzierungsbildhauer ihre künstlerische Erfahrung anderen Bildhauern weiter. Diese haben im Laufe der Jahre die Technik weiterentwickelt und neue Themen bearbeitet, wie zum Beispiel sakrale Motive. Ulrich Perathoner ist einer dieser Bildhauer und arbeitet seit 1972 mit Erfolg als Bildhauermeister; seine künstlerische Laufbahn fing mit dem Besuch der Kunstschule in St. Ulrich an, um anschließend seine künstlerischen Kenntnisse an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Rom zu erweitern. Durch den persönlichen Anspruch, die eigenen künstlerischen Kenntnisse zu vertiefen, hat sich sein Betrieb zu einem der international führenden Holzschnitzereien Betriebe etabliert. Seit 2003 ist auch Ulrich Perathoners Sohn Daniel Perathoner im Betrieb tätig und führt diesen in 2. Generation mit seiner Frau Elisa weiter. Er hat eine Holzbildhauerlehre absolviert, anschließend die Akademie der Bildenden Künste in München, welche er mit hervorragenden künstlerischen Leistungen als "Meisterschüler" abgeschlossen hat. Damit bringt er die Grundvoraussetzungen mit, um einen solchen Betrieb weiter zu leiten; Kreativität und eine solide Basis. Es werden sowohl traditionelle als auch moderne Motive ausgeführt, mit religiösen und profanen Themen in verschiedenen Größen und Ausführungen.
