XVI International Liturgical Meeting / Monastero di Bose, May 31 - June 2, 2018

From May 31 to June 2 2018, in Monastero di Bose, Italy, wiill take place the XVI International Liturgical Meeting "ARCHITECTURE OF PROXIMITY. The concept of a cathedral. The experience of a comunity. The Meeting is organized by Monastero di Bose in collaboration with Ufficio Nazionale per i Beni Culturali Ecclesiastici e l’Edilizia di Culto – Cei and Consiglio Nazionale Architetti, Pianificatori, Paesaggisti e Conservatori.

Of what “concepts of cathedrals”, that is, of what architecture of proximity and of experience of community do the Church and society have need of today? The Conference will look at the theme of “proximity” of liturgical architecture in different scales, from the apex constituted by cathedrals to peripherical and even frontier movements. In the heart of the city, in fact, the cathedral is the most eloquent metaphor of the Church’s nearness to the human community.

The Conference is open to all. Fee allowances will be provided for theology and architecture students: please contact the Secretariat.
