Exhibitors Interview 2024

Ecodry
Experts in the dehumidification process

Alessandro Giacomello’s interview, general manager of Ecodry Italy.

Can you briefly introduce us your company and your production?

Our company deals with technologies for the care and conservation of architectural heritage. Ecodry is the first non-invasive technology in Europe that solves the causes of rising damp in walls by applying electronic devices to the wall. It is a flexible, low-impact, reversible, an environmentally friendly technology that is easy to install. This technology was born in Germany in 1981 where it has been patented. Our company is able to work on all types of buildings, from residential to monumental, for the dehumidification of civil residences to the restoration work related to the preservation of architectural assets such as churches and historic buildings. The non-invasive nature of its application allows us to intervene without compromising architectural structures. The technology offered by Ecodry interacts directly on the structure of water molecules. Examples of installation of the Ecodry system can be found all over the world.

In Italy it has been installed in several prestigious buildings, such as:

• Basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan, precisely in the library of the convent of the Dominican Fathers
• Basilica SS. Giovanni e Paolo in Venice
• Crypt of the Holy Sepulchre, in the Ambrosian Library complex in Milan
• Basement of Palazzo Chigi in Rome, at the Prime Minister's Office
• Offices of the Superintendency of the Pitti Palace in Florence
• Basilica of San Lorenzo Maggiore in Milan
• Hermitage of Santa Caterina del Sasso on the eastern shore of Lake Maggiore

How do you consider the current situation of the religious articles market?

Our field is specialized in the preservation of worship building. It is an ever-expanding market well recognized by Curies and Superintendencies.

The fourth edition of "Devotio": what do you expect from this exhibition?

This is our first time attending Devotio and we are confident about the curiosity and interest in the field covered by our company.

Will you bring some novelties to “Devotio 2024”? Which ones?

We cannot speak of recent innovations in what is our field. Our technology has already been well settled for a long time and does not undergo fast-paced changes. The physical principle of operation against capillary rising damp was a scientific discovery that persists over time.
