Exhibitors Interview 2024

Bel Santi
Sacred statues in resin and fibreglass

Giuseppe Salvatore De Carolis’ interview, owner of Bel Santi..

Can you briefly introduce us your company and your production?

I am Giuseppe Salvatore De Carolis, owner of this company founded in 1995, which produces sacred statues in resin and fibreglass. We have over 800 models in different sizes, from 30 to 200 cm with a wide range of local saints. We also benefit from the experience of skilled craftsmen in restoring plaster, resin, fibreglass, wood and papier-mâché sculptures. Thanks to new techniques, we can produce new statues using even simple photographs, with short time and costs, thus meeting every customer need..

How do you consider the current situation of the religious articles market?

There has been a recovery of the market after the standstill caused by Covid. There were continual increases not only in raw materials, but in everything related to the production sector, forcing us to increase our prices as well. The hope is that this continuous price increase will stop, so as not to have serious consequences for the future of this market.

The fourth edition of "Devotio": what do you expect from this exhibition?

Our primary goal is to make ourselves known in person and to display our products so that they can be appreciated in person. We also want to bring our brand all over the world and having a relationship, no longer telematic, but in person with our customers, both old and new ones, so that they can admire the different works not only through photos.

Will you bring some novelties to “Devotio 2024”? Which ones?

Of course, for a couple of years now we have been having new wooden models made by a company in Valgardena. Once they have been made, we scan them and reproduce them in different sizes. At the fair you will be able to admire the representation of Our Lady of Sorrows, Sacred Heart of Mary, Mary loosening knots, Christ at the column, St. Joseph and many others.
