Exhibitors Interview 2024

Crisma
high quality religious articles

Giuseppe Roberto Piccinini’s interview, sales manager.

Can you briefly introduce us your company and your production?

CRISMA SRL was founded in 1998 by Roberto and his wife Cristina, as a continuation of the family business of Emiliano Piccinini who first started in 1965 the production of religious articles for the Shrine of Loreto. Over the time many other markets about gadgets and souvenirs have been risen both nationally and internationally. The entrance of both Roberto and Cristina into the company allowed it to expand its production and clientele with new technologies and items. Nowadays, the business still preserves its artisan dimension and care in product quality, but it also uses innovative technologies

How do you consider the current situation of the religious articles market?

The religious article sector has actually never experienced such deep crises as to undermine its development. Some historical companies have ceased their activities, others have been significantly affected by the recent crises that have followed one another, starting in 2001 up to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and, lastly, the worsening of the one between Israel and Palestine, involving the production and distribution system as a whole. Conversely, many others new or already operating in similar sectors have entered it bringing technologies and ideas and giving brio to research and competition. As with all industries, there will be complicated times and extremely happy periods in this one. Everything is in the hands of the companies who, by creating true concertation and synergy among themselves while holding firm to their production principles, will foster steady growth while also bringing in new jobs. An example of this is the founding of ASSORELI, an association that gathers manufacturers of religious articles, strongly desired by a small group of companies that today gathers many realities within it. In addition, the search for personnel specialized in new technologies and production methods is always keenly felt in order to enrich the offer with ever new and interesting items not only from a religious devotional point of view, but also from an aesthetic and design point of view, qualities that are in great demand today.

The fourth edition of "Devotio": what do you expect from this exhibition?

Every meeting between manufacturers and distributors is always extremely educational. Comparison between manufacturers is the basis for the growth of companies. This cannot be exclusively individual, but must necessarily come through collaboration between all the players in the target market. Any lack of collaboration risks leaving many players in the lurch, and this would not be good for the sector as a whole. The various conferences, meetings, and exhibitions organized increase interest in the sector and consequently its growth, visibility even to large groups and opening to new markets.

Will you bring some novelties to “Devotio 2024”? Which ones?

We have been participating in this event since its first edition and even earlier, since 1999 in other meetings organized by Conference Service. As always, we will bring the historical CRISMA production of religious and devotional items for Shrines, enriched this year by a new line made entirely in-house with the help of laser cutting and flat printing machines. Obviously also the D&D production, a company that joined our structure just before 2010 with its exclusive line of 925 silver wear jewellery such as rosaries, bracelets, medals and much more where the highest care and quality, represent the only goal to follow.
