Stefano D’Ambrosio’s interview, CEO of the company.

Can you briefly introduce us your company and your production?

The Stegip4 for more than 30 years has developed by consolidating partnerships with both national and international clients, to become a benchmark in the promotional industry. After 30 years we can say that we are a leading company in promotional merchandising, clothing and integrated marketing. The choice of the Dicastery for Evangelization wanted to reward the great attention that we have shown both in the adoption of high quality standards and in the environmental awareness applied to product realization. We combine competence and storytelling: the spirit of a faith event such as the Jubilee, characterized by the motto Peregrinantes in Spem. The pilgrim's backpack, then, is meant to be a case in which to store what really matters in order to rebuild a climate of hope and trust.

How do you consider the current situation of the religious articles market?

Nowadays, the Italian style is very successful in the world, achieving significant growth even in the religious products industry. Italian production is especially appreciated for devotional objects, such as rosaries, medals and figurines. As well as in vestments for the liturgy and also in sacred furnishings: chalices, monstrances and other objects for worship. Major buyers in Europe are confirmed to be the areas hosting the main shrines, from Lourdes to Fatima to Medjugorje, while there has been considerable growth in Asian countries in recent years. No less active are North and South America and also the large continent of Africa, thanks mainly to the presence of religious missionary communities.

The fourth edition of "Devotio": what do you expect from this exhibition?

Devotio is without a doubt the most important and prestigious event for the religious products market in Italy and around the world, both in terms of the quality of the items and the number of international buyers. Stegip4, with its background of experience and creativity, is proud to present in this showcase an item compatible with the demands of the religious market, and characterized by a high degree of intergenerational appeal.

Will you bring some novelties to “Devotio 2024”? Which ones?

There are two news: the first is precisely the concept behind the entire project and the creation of the pilgrim's backpack. Not a single, and decontextualized product, but a real kit inspired by the needs of an urban pilgrimage that includes a safari-type hat, a poncho, a scarf, the water bottle, a wooden rosary bracelet, pins, and other gadgets. In short, everything that may be needed during a challenging walk, but also a set of witnesses to the journey and the emotions experienced. The second is the great attention that has been taken to use recyclable or natural materials as much as possible in the making of each item.
